The Tigers come into this game that should have been played yesterday as huge favorites. The run line would usually have more value, but with the way the Tigers' offense has performed in recent weeks, and with the strong pitching matchup this game will have (Skubal vs. Heaney), I would not be surprised if the game ends 1-0. With that said, it is totally possible that Pittsburgh chooses to strategically rest some of their bullpen guys so that they're available to back up Paul Skenes in game two, which is much more winnable, given that Skenes is a Cy Young candidate and Detroit hasn't announced a starter yet. If Detroit can put up some early runs, I don't think Pittsburgh has much of a chance. Heaney is a talented pitcher plagued by a terrible team around him, like Skenes and Bailey Falter, but he's not as talented as Tarik Skubal, who should have a great game today.
